Folks who know me, know how much I love what I do. The variety of my day today highlighted why I love my “job”. Here’s my day in the life of an entrepreneur.
New client?
I started my day by submitting a proposal to a new client for facilitating a strategic planning session. A participant from one of my sessions with another client wants to do the same for his organization.
Making Connections
Then I facilitated my quarterly Community Connection event. This is a series of events that I develop for the not-for-profit community. I offer this networking opportunity as a free event for anyone who works for, volunteers with, sits on a Board of Directors of, or supports a not-for-profit organization. It’s my way of giving back to a group of organizations that have become one of my biggest client groups. People in these organizations are so passionate about their purpose and I just love connecting with them.
Midday, I jumped on to the last of five virtual training sessions over the past 2 1/2 days with IAP2 Canada to complete the Foundations: Techniques for Effective Public Participation course. I want to thank everyone who has ever participated in one of my virtual workshops! It is hard! It’s good for me to remember how difficult it is to sit in front of a screen, ignore notifications popping up on your computer/phone, balance the cats (substitute children, dogs, parents, partners) coming in and out of your space, all while trying to LEARN. The course was fantastic! I really enjoyed learning new techniques that I cannot wait to try out, and making new connections across the country.
I rescheduled a call with a client this afternoon to Monday as her office is closed due to a snowstorm! I am waiting for snow to arrive in our area so I can get out snowshoeing again.
Trying New Technology
All throughout the day I played with technology by uploading the recording of today’s Community Connection session to my YouTube channel and created this Blog! I am learning about SEO, Keywords, and Meta Descriptions. Way out of my comfort zone.
Finally, as I sign off for today, I am reflecting on all I am grateful for this day in the life of an entrepreneur! ~ Carole
